NaPoWriMo 2024 day 4

Pen on top of an open book

Day 4 of NaPoWriMo.

My poem

A poem I wrote recently. Probably should have dropped it on April fool's.

Perfect lover

I took my girl to lunch today
And left my wallet home
I kept a car note on her desk
Since she'd rather be a loan

She said she wanted space to breathe
I took her to the moon
She said "It isn't working out"
I said the gym will open soon

Featured poem

A riddle poem from J.R.R. Tokien's The Hobbit.

Riddle

by J.R.R. Tolkien

Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in scales but never clinking.

Answer: Fish
